Esperanto : what is that thing?
It is a planned language, neutral and international.
Designed from the start as a complete language including literature, poetry, songs (original or translated), music, sciences, arts, commerce, all human areas are open to it.
It belongs to nobody, to no people, no nation, but it is everydody’s language and this makes it very fair because it is free of political, cultural or faith domination, contrary to all the ethnic languages.
It puts everyone on the same footing and facilitates communication between people who do not have a common mother tongue.
It is not intended to replace other languages, but rather, it aims to protect linguistic diversity that makes the cultural richness of each people.
From both the grammatical and pronunciation point of view, the language is perfectly regular and logical but is also very rich and precise despite its structural simplicity.
The grammar has only 16 basic rules making it an easy language to learn.
When you study Esperanto, the world opens up to you.

Why learn Esperanto?

- It’s fun to get into a new language especially if it is easy to learn, regular and much more flexible than others.

- It gives you self-confidence, and its propaedeutic nature will help you to study other languages.

- It gives you the opportunity to travel at low cost, thanks to the system "Pasporta Servo", an accommodation service dedicated to Esperantists and allows you to make friends all over the world.

- It is spoken by more than 2 million people in more than 120 countries.

- Internet abounds with various websites, courses, dictionaries, forums and discussion groups in Esperanto. Skype or similar gives you the opportunity to talk to Esperantists everywhere in de world throughout the year. Wikipedia in Esperanto is ranked 32nd language in number of articles (out of nearly 300 languages processed).

- The well-filled calendar of Esperanto events around the world allows you to extensively practice the language: meetings for children, youngsters, scouts, adults, families, thematic meetings, national, international or world congresses, music and song festivals, etc …
